The SigEp/YouthAIDS partnership will provide a platform for US students to become involved and educated in the fight against HIV/AIDS. In addition to raising awareness of the global AIDS fight, SigEp chapters are holding a variety of campus events to educate college students about HIV/AIDS and raise funding for YouthAIDS prevention programs.
Objectives The program aims to accomplish three main objectives: Educate and raise awareness among college students aboutthe global HIV/AIDS epidemic, Generate funding for YouthAIDS global HIV/AIDS programs, Encourage SigEp leaders to make a difference
Education & Awareness With a presence on more than 260 college campuses across United States and an undergraduate membership of more than 14,000 students, Sigma Phi Epsilon allows YouthAIDS to reach out to hundreds of thousands of college students. SigEp chapters are organizing educational seminars, hosting HIV/AIDS speaker panels, airing YouthAIDS Public Service Announcements on college TV and radio stations, and raising awareness through print ads and posters.
Fundraising As part of philanthropy projects on their college campuses, Sigma Phi Epsilon chapters plan events to raise funds for YouthAIDS global HIV/AIDS prevention programs. With creative minds and a volunteer force of their fraternity brothers, SigEps are organizing concerts, sporting tournaments, dance competitions, casino nights, Battles of the Bands, and numerous other activities. All proceeds from these events are donated to YouthAIDS.
